"Zero-gravity in space enables the spinning and levitation of colossal planetary objects, adeptly depicted by the author using the anaglyph technique. Entitled GTO 1, GTJ 2, GTY 3, GTB 4, GTV 5, GTS 6 and GTG 7, a series of seven canvases shows seven spheres, whose number is a direct reference to the number of planets that have so far been found orbiting a dwarf star in the TRAPPIST-1 planetary system.
But while several planetary systems – including some with more than seven planets – have so far been discovered, no final and reliable forecasts have yet been possible of the possibilities of distant planets allowing biological life to evolve. One can only imagine which of the now more than 50 planets that have been said to hold the potential to support biological life forms, already have such evolving or evolved forms.
The works of Miran Kres allow similar detachment and room for daydreaming about life in space: whilst bringing remote bodies closer to the viewer’s eyes, by leaving out details entirely Kres also conveys an impression of unfamiliar, alien environments."
