TC 7 SITE - SPECIFIC INSTALLATION
Definition of ANAGLYPH
1: a sculptured, chased, or embossed ornament worked in low relief
2: a stereoscopic motion or still picture in which the right component of a composite image usually red in color is superposed on the left component in a contrasting color to produce a three-dimensional effect when viewed through correspondingly colored filters in the form of spectacles.
From Merriam-Webster, Encyclopedia Britannica, Inc.
In anaglyph graphic prints stereoscopic three-dimensional effect is achieved when viewed through the special glasses. Each of the two images reaches one eye, revealing an integrate image. The brain fuses this into perception of a three-dimensional composition.
I aim to present a form of sensuality beyond the confines of language, whereby the work holds the viewer in a physical dialog via his sense of sight.
My intention is to create simple 3 dimensional forms, viewed through the "anaglyph glasses." The TC 7 installation consists of wall painting. The anaglyph painting creates visual effect thus provoking an impression on the observer. With the use of glasses the visitor fells the part of the installation.
The result of this exploration will be a series of public site-specific installations. Working within those limits and kind of pointing them out is something I enjoy doing because it's not just the fact that I am showing another level of the human perception to audience, but I also add an invaluable dimension to my artistic practice as well.
